Break out your box of tissues. U.S. Bank is Making it Happen – Again.

U.S. Bank just wrapped up its Make it Happen promotion – its second integrated social promotion in the past year. This time, U.S. Bank and Visa asked consumer and business cardmembers to share a story about a person or group they’d help if they won $10,000.  Cardmembers were then encouraged to share their story with friends and family through Facebook, Twitter, email, etc. to drive online voting.  The more votes, the better, since the story with the most votes would win the $10K prize. Cardholders also had a chance to win additional prizes just by using their U.S. Bank Visa card and by playing an online game.

U.S. Bank, Visa and Media Logic collaborated to develop the overarching promotion concept and to launch a multi-channel promotion. Make it Happen was supported by direct-to-consumer efforts, a robust microsite that served as the promotion’s hub and other online initiatives designed to sustain interest and engagement throughout the length of the promotion.

The response? An inventory of stories so touching and so inspiring – all submitted by people looking to make a difference and Make it Happen for their cause – that U.S. Bank decided to triple the number of winners.
