Kathy Hobbs — Chairperson

Ms. Hobbs is the visionary founder and CEO of Media Logic. In addition to executive leadership, she has been a data architect and software engineer for Fortune 500 firms for more than 15 years. Her work in leading Seattle-based companies and her unique ability to construct extraordinary teams enables her to attract top talent in the IT arena and meet the needs of the most demanding clients.

Her career began in the publishing industry with such firms as the Seattle Times, Knight Ridder and the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner. She directed design and implementation for data centers supporting wireless networks across North America and Europe as well as led data architecture in the healthcare industry. Ms. Hobbs also oversaw a teen-targeted web site resulting in a patent-pending content management system integrating psychographic profiling.

Ms. Hobbs was recognized for her leadership by Shinae Chun, National Director USDOL Women’s Bureau, choosing her as one of the leading women business executives in the Pacific Northwest in 2005. In 2006 she was awarded SBA Minority Business Person of the Year for Region X (WA, OR, ID, AK). And a short time later her company was recognized by University of Washington and Puget Sound Business Journal as one of 100 Fastest Growing Companies in Washington State.

Ms. Hobbs serves on several boards including the Northwest Minority Business Council and the Washington State Advisory Board to Small Business Development Centers. Her dedication in growing Media Logic is parallel with her commitment to addressing the issues and concerns of the growing Economic Divide in today's global economy.

James Williams — Executive Vice President, Media Logic

Mr. Williams oversees Media Logic's business development and has been a major cause for growth of company revenues by more than 500% since 2001. He also sets the technical direction for the company and is responsible for overseeing the development, testing and deployment of all core products and ensures the company continues to maintain a sound and integrated IT architecture. He has built up the company's recruiting program, including improving work processes and developing strategies to expand recruiting globally.

Mr. Williams brings over twelve years of hands-on software development and support experience covering many projects in corporate America. Throughout his years at the Microsoft campus, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group and Pointshare Corporation, he has successfully designed, installed, implemented and managed database applications with the highest customer satisfaction. He is the author of Media Logic's StarRecruit© Application that allows management and recruiters to track all stages of candidate recruiting process.

Mr. Williams has the special ability to guide, motivate and mentor technologists in the making. He is the author of Media Logic's Adult Technology Program which has resulted in successful student placements into the technology work place with positions at AT&T Wireless, Microsoft, Boeing, King County, and TrendWest. He oversees Media Logic’s Information Technology training and mentoring programs, managing strategic partnerships with a number of foundations in the Pacific Northwest, Midwest and East Coast.

Donald Sytsma — President, Meteor Communications Corp.

Mr. Sytsma brings a breadth of expertise to Media Logic's Board of Directors in financial planning and management, strategic planning, program management, new business development, and international marketing.

As one of five partners who founded Meteor Communications Corporation in 1975, Mr. Sytsma now serves as President. Working with government officials around the world, he has been involved in the management, design and installation of many of Meteor’s turnkey wireless networks in North America, Asia, Africa and South America. Using proprietary meteorburst technology coupled with LOS and HF, Meteor provides secured data packet transmission with end-to-end verification from the most remote corners on the globe.

Prior to founding Meteor, Mr. Sytsma spent 13 years with the Boeing Company. His duties included the development of requirements and specifications with the customer, preparation of technical and cost proposals, and management of the design tasks from prototype development through production hardware.

Cheryl Jones — Executive Director, Allen Renaissance and Former Director of National Accounts, Starbucks Coffee Company

Ms. Jones provides marketing expertise to Media Logic based on her years of experience in technology and marketing, including several years as Director of National Accounts, Starbucks Coffee Company. She has twenty years of experience in information technology strategy and business development in the US Navy, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), Logicon Inc., small MBE firms, and seven years at Unisys Corporation.

Prior to joining Starbucks, Ms. Jones held positions of increasing responsibility in management as Program Director, Director of Business Development and Vice President Western Operations. In her most recent tenure at Unisys as Vice President of the Microsoft Alliance, Ms. Jones directed the strategy and implementation of the Microsoft-Unisys partnership for implementation across Unisys 100 global locations. Unisys was awarded the distinction of Microsoft’s Global Partner of the Year for 2003.

While at Unisys, Ms. Jones was awarded the Unisys Excellence in Management Award for 2001 and was selected as a member of the Unisys Executive Development Forum. Cheryl also received the 2004 Washington State Small Business Person of the Year and Leadership Award from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Unisys selected her for membership on their Global Diversity Council and Starbucks supports her continued membership in the Northwest Minority Business Council.

As a founding member and co-chairman of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals, Ms. Jones helped create the only national ASAP chapter with a small business committee. Her advocacy extends to mentoring youth, too, as Ms. Jones is on the boards of several local community groups serving children and young adults.
